BUCKINGHAMSHIRE SITE
MASTERPLAN

Here we were invited to consider the potential to develop a site in Buckinghamshire for residential use.

The site slopes from north to south and features a distinct irregular field pattern bounded by groups of mature trees.  Within this context it seemed appropriate that the proposed layout should take an organic form which would be able to respond to the irregular nature of the landscape setting.  We were therefore inspired by the incremental traditional growth patterns found in local villages.

Within each block, houses would be close to the street, and either terraced or connected with garden walls.  Lanes and alleyways would permeate the blocks and provide access to parking courts.

100 homes would be provided.  40% of the total floor area would be devoted to affordable units. The units would range in size from one bedroom flats to four bedroom houses.   Building heights would vary from 1.5 to 2.5 storeys.
