LONGBRIDGE DEVERILL
CHAPEL CONVERSION
WILTSHIRE

Our client wanted to convert an early nineteenth century Methodist Chapel to residential use.  The building is located in the Longbridge Deverill Conservation Area, Wiltshire.  It is constructed in local stone with brick dressings.

Our traditional interventions seek to accommodate the client's wish for a modern living arrangement.  A glazed link will connect the adjacent house with the converted building.  Two thirds of the building will be opened up to the roof, with skylights inserted, and used as a living space.  This area will feature a new fireplace and an open staircase leading to a first floor gallery.  The remaining third will be devoted to bedrooms and bathrooms over two floors.
