MAIDENHEAD SITE
MASTERPLAN - BERKSHIRE

We worked with a national developer to produce a traditional masterplan for a site on the edge of Maidenhead in Berkshire. The proposal contains around two hundred houses, flats and a care home.

Our scheme divides the site into two areas separated by an existing lane.  One has a traditional village green at its centre, whilst the other has a small square.

The street character aims to follow that of nearby Bray, whilst at the same time accommodating modern vehicle movements and parking requirements.  Front gardens are rarely more than a narrow planting strip in order to enhance street enclosure.

The houses look to the local vernacular found in villages such as Cookham and Hurley.  A range of traditional materials and building forms helps to generate variety.
