We have just received planning permission and listed building consent for works to a grade II listed farm house in Ashley, Wiltshire.  This includes a garden room extension with an oak frame and lantern, a new roof with oak purlins to an existing part of the building, new windows and doors, internal refurbishment, and landscaping.

We have just commenced work on an extension and refurbishment to a large cottage near Bath.  The house is located on the edge of the village of Wick in South Gloucestershire.

Work on our project at Hinton St George continues.  We are currently producing documents for a building regulations application. Construction work is due to start in the next few months.

Windsor Link Railway have asked us to undertake further work on our masterplan for Windsor.  The scheme incorporates a mile-long stretch of Thames riverfront.

We have been working for some months now for a developer client on a masterplan for a site in Maidenhead in Berkshire.  The current proposal contains around two hundred houses and flats with a series of public spaces and parkland.

Work is about to commence on preparing a planning application and listed building consent for an extension and refurbishment to a Grade II listed farmhouse near Bath.

Having produced a detailed drawings package, our scheme for 10 village houses at Hinton St George, Somerset, is now out for tender.  Building work is due to start on site within a few months.

James Armitage Architects have been invited by the Princes Foundation to be part of a network of practitioners to engage in BIMBY (Beauty In My Back Yard) workshops.  The Foundation have developed a toolkit that guides communities in creating a Housing Manual for their local area.  Funding is available for the network practitioner's involvement in the workshops: www.neighbourhoodplanning.org/beauty-in-my-backyard.  Further details on the toolkit are available at www.bimby.org.uk.

Listed building consent has been received for the addition of two new glazed roofs to a Grade II* listed Georgian building at the Paragon School in Bath.

We have been updating our proposal for an edge of town development site in Surrey.  We have been able to maintain a traditional layout and massing at a density of 50 dwellings per hectare, achieving a total of 75 units.

Feasibility studies are underway for two sites in Buckinghamshire.  One will contain around 160 new dwellings and the other around 100 new dwellings.  Both will provide substantial areas of public open space.

We are delighted to announce the addition of two new members to our team.  Helena Villegas Vergara is a qualified Architect, with over ten years of experience, and holds a Masters degree from the University of Seville.  Elenia Nevradaki is an experienced Architectural Assistant with a Diploma in Architecture from the Glasgow School of Art.

Design work is about to commence on a set of new buildings within the grounds of the Grade I listed Prior Park College, Bath.  The buildings will house offices, canteen, workshop and storage accommodation.
