OLD GRAMMAR SCHOOL
URBAN BLOCK REGENERATION
COVENTRY

The Old Grammar School in Coventry is a Grade I listed building situated within an area designated for redevelopment.

Our masterplan proposes that the car park to the rear of the building is developed to form an urban block comprising apartments, offices and ground floor retail / workshops.  A lane and passageways create porosity for pedestrians.  The buildings are sized to match the scale of the historic fabric in the area and range from two to four storeys in height.

The Old Grammar School itself would take on a community use and act as a focus for the development and the regeneration of the area more generally.

The illustration opposite shows a sketch massing diagram of the completed urban block, with the Old Grammar School in the foreground.
