ACADEMY OF URBANISM

James Armitage is honoured to have been invited to join the Academy of Urbanism as an Academician. The organisation brings together leading academics and practitioners in the field of urbanism. It supports the idea that successful urbanism comes about as a result of a collective vision between professionals, the community and those involved in governance. It promotes vibrant, walkable, mixed-use neighbourhoods that take consideration of the geographic, social and built context. These should be adaptable, sustainable, and encourage biodiversity. They should enhance local character, whilst responding to present day needs.
