VERNACULAR HOUSING IN SOUTH SOMERSET

A year on from completion, our scheme for ten new houses in the beautiful village of Hinton St George is starting to bed in nicely. The natural materials - Ham stone, slate, clay tiles and timber weatherboarding - are all beginning to weather and blend in with the historic buildings within the Conservation Area. The grass verge, which follows that in the main street, gives the street a soft, natural edge. The planted borders are maturing and residents are adding their own personal touches.
