POUNDBURY
URBAN BLOCK
DORCHESTER, DORSET

This proposal involves the design of an urban block within the Duchy of Cornwall's development at Poundbury, Dorchester, Dorset.

The block would contain traditional townhouses and apartments (including a large number of affordable units) and ground floor retail space. All parking would be located within the enclosed courtyard.

The classical character of the proposed development draws on Georgian buildings of the surrounding area, but also aims to maximise window areas in order to increase natural light.  The materials would include brick, render and slate.
