TAIL MILL
HOUSING MASTERPLAN
MERRIOTT, SOMERSET

This masterplan encompasses a historic listed mill complex just outside the Somerset village of Merriott.  It has been devised to provide accommodation around a series of courts, some including the existing listed buildings and one as an entirely new development.  45 houses are created of which 22 will be new-build and the remainder located within the converted mill buildings.  Sizes range from two to four bedroom homes.

Our traditional houses in this rural setting draw inspiration from both the local vernacular and the industrial buildings of the mill complex. They are mostly formed using local honey-coloured Ham stone, with timber cladding used where appropriate.  The roofs are typically covered in natural slate.
